You can use it without an account
Without signing in, everything stays in your browser's local storage on that device. Nothing about your learning reaches a server, and there is nothing for us to delete because we never had it. The trade-off is that your progress does not follow you to another device, and clearing your browser data ends it.
If you sign in
Signing in uses Google. We receive from Google, and store:
- a stable account identifier (Google's
sub). We store it hashed — it is what identifies your account to us; - your email address, used to recognise you across devices and to send a reminder if you have asked for one;
- your display name, if Google provides one, which is only shown back to you.
We do not receive your Google password, and we cannot see anything else in your Google account.
What your learning record contains
- Progress per card — how many times you have met each item, how often you got it right, and when you last saw it. This is what decides what you are shown next.
- An answer log — which card, which answer, right or wrong, how long you took, with a timestamp. It is what makes the difficulty estimate honest rather than guessed.
- Your settings — course, interface language, register, pace, session length.
- Generated practice cards — sentences built from the words you keep missing.
No microphone, no camera, no contacts, no location, no advertising identifier. The app asks Android for permission to keep playing audio while your screen is off, and for nothing else.
Who else sees it
- Google — handles the sign-in itself. Google learns that you signed in to Sprintfluent.
- MyAPI — hosts the app, the login service and the database your record is stored in.
- Google Gemini — when the app builds personalised practice sentences, it sends the words you have been getting wrong and the language you are learning. It does not send your email, your name, or your account identifier.
Nothing is sold, and nothing is shared with advertisers. There is no advertising in the app.
Analytics
This page and the front page at sprintfluent.com are served through MyAPI's funnel,
which includes its own analytics script. It records approximate location (city level, derived from
your IP address) and browser characteristics. The app itself, at
app.sprintfluent.com, does not include it — that is a different kind of hosting, and
we have not added any analytics of our own to it.
Erasing your account
Open the app, and on the home screen under your account, choose delete my account. You will be asked to type a word to confirm. This is immediate and permanent, and it erases:
- your progress and every card record;
- your entire answer log;
- your generated practice cards;
- your account record, including your email address;
- your sign-in sessions — including ones on other devices, which stop working at once.
The app tells you how many records were erased rather than simply claiming success. Afterwards we retain only a note that this account identifier was deleted and when, so that a session still cached on another phone cannot quietly recreate the account. That note contains no email address and no learning data. Signing in again later starts a genuinely new, empty account.
If you cannot reach the app for any reason, write to the address below from the email address you signed in with and we will erase it for you.
How long it is kept
Your record is kept while your account exists, because it is the product — a scheduler with no history has nothing to schedule. Delete the account and it goes. Sign-in sessions expire on their own after 90 days.
Children
Sprintfluent is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly hold data from them. The cards are mined from film and television subtitles and include ordinary adult language.
Changes
If this changes in a way that affects what we collect or who sees it, the date at the top changes and the new version appears here.
Contact
You can delete your account and everything attached to it yourself, from the app: sign in, then delete my account on the home screen. That removes it immediately and needs no one's help.
